Carousel Spin
Also known as: Sun Wheel
What is the Carousel Spin?
The carousel spin is built on a stable grip of the pole while extending one leg outward at an angle, so that the whole body opens around the axis of the spin. It requires more body control than the foundational spins and is best suited for once the basic spins already feel secure.
How to do the Carousel Spin
-
Grip the pole with both hands at shoulder height and stand at a slight angle to it.
-
Push off your legs and let your body begin to spin around the pole.
-
Extend one leg outward at an angle while keeping your core engaged.
-
Keep your supporting leg close to the pole throughout the spin.
-
Hold the leg extension for the length of the momentum.
-
Gradually close your legs and land under control.
