Grip
Also known as: Pole Grip
What is Grip?
The way the hands, and sometimes other parts of the body, hold onto the pole to allow control, support, and safe movement.
Longer Explanation
Grip is the point of contact and pressure between the hands, and sometimes the arms or legs, and the pole. The type of grip varies from move to move, for example split grip, twisted grip, or elbow grip, and each type provides different stability depending on the direction and intensity of the move.
A safe, steady grip is the foundation of most moves in pole dance, and it is built gradually through strengthening the muscles of the hand and forearm.
