Fireman Spin
תרגיל ספין כבאי
Also known as: Fireman's Spin
What is the Fireman Spin?
The fireman spin is one of the first moves learned in pole dance. You approach the pole with a double hand grip, push off the floor, and let your body rotate around the pole with both legs extended and together. It is an excellent move for building confidence in the spin sensation and trusting your hand grip.
How to do the Fireman Spin
-
Stand beside the pole with your right shoulder close to it.
-
Grip with your right hand above your head and your left hand at rib height.
-
Step forward with your outside foot and press your inside knee against the pole.
-
Push off with your outside leg, letting your body swing around.
-
Draw both legs together, toes pointed, maintaining a tight shape.
-
Land softly on both feet as the spin completes.
Common Mistakes
- Pushing the hips back instead of keeping a straight body axis.
- Gripping too tightly, which slows or stops the spin.
- Legs drifting apart at the top of the spin.
