Pinwheel
What is the Pinwheel?
The pinwheel is a move in which the body passes between several spin angles while changing grip, creating a sense of continuous movement that is more complex than a regular spin. It builds on the sense of direction and grip-changing gained in the back hook.
How to do the Pinwheel
-
Begin with back-hook momentum and a stable grip in both hands.
-
During the spin, gently change the position of your leading hand.
-
Continue the momentum while changing your body's direction to match the grip change.
-
Keep your core engaged to maintain an even line of spin.
-
Repeat the change carefully if the move includes more than one rotation.
-
Finish in a stable stance with a grip in both hands.
