Shoulder Flexibility

Flexibility Intermediate

What is the Shoulder Flexibility?

Shoulder flexibility focuses on expanding the range of motion of the shoulder joint, especially in movements overhead and behind the torso. Improving flexibility in this area helps you reach inverts and hold poses more comfortably.

How to do the Shoulder Flexibility

  1. Stand or sit in a stable position with a long back.

  2. Raise one arm up and bring it over your head toward your back.

  3. Use your other arm to gently deepen the stretch.

  4. Hold the stretch while breathing calmly.

  5. Return to a neutral position and switch sides.

  6. Repeat the practice gradually on both sides.

Common Mistakes

  • Helping with too much force from the other hand.
  • Lifting the shoulder toward your ear instead of keeping it stable.
  • Forcing the range beyond what feels comfortable.
