Straddle Flexibility
Flexibility Beginner
What is the Straddle Flexibility?
Straddle flexibility focuses on expanding the range of motion of the hips and groin, an ability needed in many moves such as the carousel and butterfly. Regular, gentle stretching gradually improves the available range of motion.
How to do the Straddle Flexibility
-
Sit on the floor with your legs open to the sides at a comfortable angle.
-
Keep your back long and your knees facing upward.
-
Tilt your torso forward slowly until you feel a pleasant stretch.
-
Hold the stretch while breathing calmly and deeply.
-
Return to sitting upright slowly.
-
Repeat the practice over several breaths, without forcing the range.
Common Mistakes
- Bouncing within the stretch instead of a steady movement.
- Holding your breath while tilting forward.
- Forcing the range beyond what feels comfortable.
