Hamstring Flexibility

Flexibility Beginner

What is the Hamstring Flexibility?

Hamstring flexibility focuses on stretching the muscles at the back of the thigh, an ability that supports poses with an extended leg such as the carousel and attitude. Regular, gentle stretching gradually improves the range of motion available in the leg.

How to do the Hamstring Flexibility

  1. Sit on the floor with one leg extended straight forward.

  2. Bend your other leg so the sole of your foot touches your inner thigh.

  3. Slowly tilt your torso forward over the extended leg.

  4. Hold the stretch while breathing calmly.

  5. Return to sitting upright and switch legs.

  6. Repeat the practice on both sides.

Common Mistakes

  • Over-rounding the back instead of tilting from the hip.
  • Bouncing within the stretch instead of a steady movement.
  • Forcing the range beyond what feels comfortable.
